Our History

Our story began in the 1920s, when Jack Smith, a logger and tie hacker, passed on his strong work ethic and deep connection to the Ozark forests to his son, Viandel "Spider" Smith. Spider opened his own flooring mill in 1946, and partnered with Ralph Padgett to begin operations. Over the years, the business has grown and evolved, with each generation of the Smith family playing a significant role in shaping the company into what it is today. From our humble beginnings to our current status as a leading manufacturer of high-quality oak flooring, we have remained committed to our core values of quality, sustainability, and community.
