Since our beginning in April of 2001, the core tenets of Outer Banks Floor Covering haven't changed. These values have been woven into the very fabric of our team and our family-owned business from day one. Our founder, Rocky Gentry, began his flooring journey in 1982 as an installer for his father, Merritte. During those formative years, Rocky learned the invaluable lessons of hard work, dedication, and the art of quality craftsmanship. His father's legacy instilled in him a passion for delivering beautiful, enduring floors that would bring lasting satisfaction to homeowners and businesses alike.

Following his father's passing, Rocky embarked on his own flooring installation career, serving local businesses and contractors throughout eastern North Carolina. His dedication to honest, hardworking craftsmanship quickly earned him a reputation as a reliable and skilled professional, sought out by countless satisfied customers throughout the community. In 2001, he and his wife, Hope, took a leap of faith and opened the doors to Outer Banks Floor Covering. Driven by Rocky's hands-on experience and keen understanding of every aspect of flooring, the company quickly established itself as a trusted name in the region. Rocky's passion wasn't just for flooring; he deeply loved living on the Crystal Coast.
