Positive Experiences with Flooring Detective/Inspector Jeff Meltzer
Several reviewers had a positive experience with Jeff Meltzer or Flooring Detective. They praised his professionalism, willingness to help, and expertise in resolving flooring issues. He was described as thorough, patient, and knowledgeable, going above and beyond to assist with their flooring problems.
Jeff helped to answer concerns about SPC flooring, inspected bamboo wood flooring, and examined LVP flooring, providing detailed reports and objective information to support claims. He was also willing to communicate with contractors and mediation contacts, and continued to follow up on cases even after initial inspections.
Negative Experience with Flooring Detective
However, one reviewer had a negative experience with Flooring Detective, citing issues with communication, billing, and the quality of service. The reviewer paid $870 for an inspection but did not receive a report for over a month. When they inquired about the status, they were asked to pay an additional $190 for a Dimensional Stability Test and Explanation of the test results. The reviewer was then billed for shipping costs and felt pressured to pay before receiving a report.
The reviewer ultimately decided to seek a second opinion from another inspector and was satisfied with the new report. Although Flooring Detective eventually sent the final report with the lab test result, it was too late, and no explanation of the test results was provided.
